Sunday Worship at FBC is lively, yet reverent expression of the Christian faith. We sing, we read scripture, we hear the Word preached, and we practice communion together on a weekly basis. FBC has a thriving children's ministry time on Sunday mornings and we also periodically offer Sunday morning Ignite classes for adults.

As our mission statement says, we gather together "to be a people who embody and proclaim the life-giving fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ." Central to our Sunday time of worship is developing our relationship with God and expressing devotion to Him for who He is and what He has done. Jesus calls us to ‘love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ He calls this the first and greatest commandment [Matthew 22:37].

Making disciples that make disciples

As a church we build each other up in faith so that we might bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world around us. The way we do this is through relationship with God, and with each other. Sunday morning worship is a part of how we do this, but we also "do life together" through home community groups, prayer times, and our Ignite series, which focuses on the intersection of faith and culture. The vision of gospel change is an important part of life at FBC.

Globally, the FBC family prayerfully and financially support a number of missionaries around the world; locally we host a food bank and The Landing Youth and Tutoring Center. In addition, members of the FBC family are encouraged to live a life of gospel mission in our community; this currently includes (but is not limited to) being active in foster care, local business ownership and development, working with the homeless, and helping local families in need. As Jesus reminds us, as we serve those around us, we serve Him. “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” [Matthew 24: 35 - 36]

FBC Kids

At FBC, we believe that children are some of the most important people on the planet! We are confident that God feels the same way. He has created children in His image and for His glory. In the end, God desires that children be glory-reflectors: that they live for His glory, represent Him in the world, and eventually dwell with Him in glory forever!
For us, Kids’ Ministry is more than a free babysitting service so that parents can enjoy themselves in the worship service. We look at Kids’ Ministry as being a purposeful, holistic ministry to children and their families. Therefore, it is one of our priorities to support and strengthen the home of every child to be a place where children can learn what it means to know, love and obey Jesus.

Preaching

Biblical preaching is a central focus of Sunday worship at FBC. The storyline told in Scripture from beginning to end conveys the plan of God through history to recover His lost creation. The view of God’s redemptive plan through history can be understood through the chapters of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration. The telling of this Story gives the context for God’s Redemptive Plan in Christ. This is God’s story in one broad stroke. At the center of God’s story is the work of Redemption: the Person and Work of Christ. Upon being set free from sin, believers are now given access to the Spirit of God to live a Spirit-Empowered life.

Worship

Musical worship at FBC is lively, yet reverent. Because FBC is a multi-generational church, we incorporate many styles of worship music, from hymns to contemporary, to classical, to original compositions. Throughout the year you will hear choirs and organ music, as well as trumpets, piano, drums, and guitars, all played in the spirit of Psalm 150. As musical worship is a congregational activity we encourage singing, clapping, and a variety of forms of interactive worship…all with the intent of giving glory to God!
